What we do

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to estate planning and structuring

True, holistic estate planning does not only look at those assets owned by an individual in their own name but covers all 4 asset silos as they are governed by different rules, laws and documents. Bespoke planning across these silos, both locally and offshore, ensures that no “one size fits all approach” limits a family group’s opportunities and possible solutions to expensive pitfalls.

ASSET SILOS

Trust assets are managed by Trustees according to the Deed of Trust. Our aim is to ensure the correct management of these assets for ultimate protection of the Beneficiaries:

Assets owned by the Client in their own name are subject to the effects of marriage, divorce, insolvency and death.  Our aim is to structure these assets optimally and ensure  successful transfer of wealth to the next generation.

Company assets are owned by the entity. Our services focus on the company structure from a shareholder perspective to ensure best effect in individuals estates.

The following services will be facilitated by Anchor on request:

Life, Pension and Retirement products are subject to legislative rules. The treatment of these products can greatly affect an individual’s estate liquidity, estate duty and the success of the planned outcome.

Di Haiden

Di Haiden has been with RCI since 1990 and has worked with Rob Cowen since 1987. She is currently a Director and Chief Executive Officer of RCI. Prior to RCI (which seems like aeons ago!), Di started working in the family office space in 1982 with Fairheads Trust in the Cape, moved to Joburg and went into partnership doing accounting and bookkeeping for small businesses and then met Rob, who invited her to join RCI. Her ‘outside office’ activities include being involved with her children and myriad of their offspring (7 grandchildren), organising annual family concerts, playing sport (golf rather badly) and exercising.

Andrew Lawson

Andrew is a CFA charterholder. He joined RCI in 2016 after five years in the finance department of a local distributor for a large global brand, where he was responsible for the treasury function. Andrew is currently involved in RCI's day-to-day business operations and assists clients with achieving their investment goals. When not focused on work or his wife and two young children, Andrew can be found on the golf course, probably looking for his ball in the rough.
